Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the global fight fans offered sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
