FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years following their departure for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
