The loved ones of teens unaccounted for after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are confronting an agonising wait for confirmed information and requesting clues about their children publicly.
The inferno devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of January 1st. Circulated images depict the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.
Emergency services have warned that it could take an extended period to formally name the those who perished of the tragedy, which killed numerous partygoers and injured another 119. Officials stated on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with the process ongoing to identify the other six.
In the waiting period, loved ones have been taking to online platforms to plead for clues about their loved ones who were at the bar that evening.
The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his parent.
The resident of a town near Lausanne, informed a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to see if he was in the hospital, while his father did the equivalent search in Bern, but did not locate him.
"This is a living nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in a serious state. It's horrific," she told the paper.
She continued that some of his friends had been discovered with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they went through a terrifying ordeal."
The Italian foreign ministry has indicated that a number of of its citizens are still unaccounted for.
One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old sportsman, originally from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

"Someone with him informed me they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.
One of his educators commented, "I've always been struck by his good nature and positive demeanor, alongside great maturity. Often offer to help out."
Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in the country, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to sources.
Her brother has posted an appeal on social media, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
Consular authorities from her other nation say they are actively engaged with the situation.
