Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
